This year, MEOPAR’s Annual Scientific and Training Meetings will take place in partnership with the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society’s 52nd Congress. The events will take place from June 10 to 15, 2018 at the new Halifax Convention Centre in Halifax NS, Canada. The joint events will bring together a wide range of scientists and other professionals from across Canada and around the world with a focus on topics in atmospheric, ocean and earth science.
Please join us at an Expert Forum being held May 16 & 17, 2018 in Vancouver, BC.
MEOPAR, in partnership with the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction and the Western Transportation Advisory Committee, is hosting this Expert Forum on Addressing Climate Risks for Coastal Transportation Infrastructure, bringing together leading experts to discuss issues in this important field.
The Forum brings together public, private and academic stakeholders to discuss the current state of knowledge and explore possible actions and areas of collaboration to reduce the risk of loss and damage from climate change and extreme weather. A report summarizing the findings of the Expert Forum will be shared with decision-makers across Canada with the goal of providing direction to new partnerships and research projects.
More information about the event can be found on MEOPAR’s website, including a draft agenda. Don’t delay—registration will expire very soon.
